As others have said you should ring up your CT office and make sure all the payments you have made tie in and there are no unexplained refunds. The information I recieved from Uptons a few weeks back (which may be wrong), was there is no pro-active work going on to identify who else has been impacted you will have to find this out yourself.

How many others work at Upton & Co ? Will it continue to trade or will everything get dropped and potentially 'phoenixed' to one of the other companies mentioned in this thread?Comment

Any recommendations for a new accountant
I've stuck by Darren despite the at times somewhat "shonkey" service for 5 yrs now but I think this time it's time to roll on else where, any recommendations for a good accountant in Yorkshire? Some people are like slinkys, totally pointless but the thought of pushing them down a flight of stairs never fails to put a smile on your face.Comment

We have already warned a couple of accountants for posting contact details on here. Happy for contractors to give recommendations if they have had good service, otherwise please keep any other contact to PM.Comment

Thanks for the update Admin.
Its a shame really, Uptons used to be a really good accountant, if any of the accusations prove to be true, it is shear stupidity on behalf of the culprits.Still InvoicingComment

After pondering over a couple of months, I have finally made the move to Nixons. i felt bad doing this to Uptons as they were always quick to respond and a no-nonsense accountant.. but i suppose they are to blame for getting into this mess..
Nixons were prompt till i joined but no replies to 2 emails in the last few daysHopefully, going by the praise for them in this forum, this is just an exception and it will be a smooth transition.. and not from the frying pan to the fire!!

Update
Hi all. Apologies to those i didnt get back to (i've been away for a few days). Admin has now given the full update i was PMing to people. So nothing much else to add. I would strongly advise all to review past few years accounts though. <snip>Last edited by administrator; 15 July 2011, 08:58. Reason: Sorry, a bit too close to discussing the case there. Me being over cautious I am sure but better safe than sorry.Comment
