Opt out

I know this has been asked a millon times but search here brings up nothing very useful. And I know I should should have been paying attention but it's TOO BORING!

Just signed new contract. Looks fairly IR35 friendly. There is an opt out of EAA regs form included with no comment on it or any request to sign it.

Should I? Ta for any opinions.

I'm bored with it too, I must admit. In practice, it's only of real value to you if you want to go direct after a short period of time with the same client at the end of the contract, or if you are worried about how well the agency will honour its debts (they have to pay you whether or not they've been paid. Yeah right, that's really going to happen if they're going down...). There's a lot of pseudo employment protection bo*****s that shouldn't really bother a proper contractor but is important if you're an agency temp.

The value is that the agency has to do more work if you opt in. So opt out and use it to drive up the rate a bit.
