According to Elvin we have a fighting chance of being successful
Sorry dont quite have the same optimism. The judge dismissed each of the claims.

If we go back to court with the same claims it is almost certain we will get the same verdict. Only benefit of appeal is to delay payment.

      brief comments

If the brief thought it would have been a seismic decision if it went our way, why did we bother or even get excited about this?

Good point. However, it seems that there is a process that needs to be
followed, we're only at the first stage so far.

Sorry for the delay in posting

Still in a state of shock.

I need time to study the judgement in detail and reflect before I can make any further comment.

Please don't anyone give up hope.

This is not over yet, not by a long way.

                process

OK - well thats encouraging in some ways, but what is this process - and at what point in it do we have any hope of something going our way? i.e what is "final"? I feel so powerless as I'm sure many others do. Ultimately all we did was pay for someone to manage our affairs as efficiently as possible for the good of our families.. why are we treated as basically morons that should shut up and wait for the powers that be to decide whether they have tortured us enough or (more likely) not? - sorry last bit is from the heart, what there is left of it anyway.

                  I agree

If we have to go 10 rounds, we go 10 rounds.

I note that, according to the evidence in this claim, HMRC intends to take into account financial hardship to taxpayers before seeking to enforce demands for tax and interest under section 58(4) in respect of past periods. "

                    bring on the next fight
Well, quite - the next sentence says:

In plain English - as we were given the chance to pay up earlier, then tough. No deals, give us your house and sell your kids.

I totally agree. I think everyone got buoyed up with all the evidence in the court case etc. I always saw this as stage 1 of a lengthy process (just like arctic systems).
