Hi,
In 2008 I contracted in the Netherlands from July 2008 to September 2008.
Though I was working full-time in the Netherlands Monday to Friday, I was going back to the UK every week-end and therefore I was still a UK tax resident.
However, once in the Netherlands I was told by my Dutch accountant that I had to pay my income tax in the Netherlands (under the 30% tax rule scheme), which I did.
My problem:
I am about to fill out my UK tax return for tax year 2008-2009 and will need to declare to the UK tax man the income I had in the Netherlands in 2008. I fear they might ask me to pay UK income tax on my Netherlands income on top of the taxes I have already paid to the Netherlands tax man.
Thanks to tell me if you are aware of any double taxation agreement betwenn the Netherlands and the UK to avoid to be taxed twice?
Thanks for your help.
D.
