Because if you work through an agency, you can't be a sole trader (self-employed), and your only other choice is to go ltd.

I agree going limited is the option. But my point is that, we are paying umbrella companies to maintian/verify all our reciepts as well. But by agreeing dispensation they are not doing thier duty.

Ya you are right.. why do they charge so much then.. ? (average 100 pound a month) If they do just accounting work (calculate my tax) a software would cost me 50 pound a year ... I mean all those brollys.. are making lot of money by fooling us.. are there any genuine ones out there ?

Thats just an example. I am making a differnt point here. Whats the dam point in paying to umbrella company, if they have dispensation agreed ? what value does it add to me as a contractor? Is it not that they running away from thier resoponsibilities. The very point I am paying them for ?

The point is, you agreed to their terms and conditions. If you dont like it, find a brolly that doesnt make you pay for such things! If you can!
