On the subject of "flouting legal obligations" legally we were in the right (the Govt have done nothing to prove otherwise). Legally, Timms and Kennedy have abused our human rights, have been unfair, disproportionate and discriminatory. The JR will show this.

Likewise, what a hypocrite! The letter he sent out was just a series of half truths and omissions. He's been spinning over how he plans to make possibly hundreds of people bankrupt, his department has ruined families, he's part of a Government that have lied and deceived, flipped their homes, and looted pensions. And he's lecturing on morality? Bloody hell, words fail me.

What a joke...another case of one rule for them and another for the law abiding hard workers who are managing their tax affairs by the current legislative law.

Are our feeds being relayed to Montpellier? DO we know what Montp's latest views are on the JR and what they think about "nice but dim" Timms latest rant?

My worry is that this latest rant in the media can only influence THEIR case and what the Judicial Reviewers opinion on this is.....but perhaps I am just being sceptical....

Labour has thrown all the gold over board, emptied the hold of all tax revenues, never repaired the rigging or caulked the hull of our Land and now the decks are awash with debt. The passengers search for a lifeboat that doesn't exist and Captain Brown orders the sacrifice of 2000 of them to help right the ship. But Timms has no idea where true north is. And whilst his moral compass swings like a scolded cats tail and Britannia slowly sinks below the waves, his denial is comforted by the words of Winston Churchill: "Success is the ability to go from one failure to another with no loss of enthusiasm".

Notice Warning of Legal Proceedings

Well, a couple of weeks ago, I received my CN. The CN states that you have the right to appeal. Montp sent a very well worded appeal on my behalf.

I contacted the hmrc to find out if they had received the appeal and the guy on the phone says that there is nothing showing but that there is a 5 week delay on opening the post so check back in 5 weeks.

Today, I get a Notice Warning of Legal Proceedings saying that they will start distraint action against me which means 'I will sieze your possessions and later arrange to have them sold at public auction' if I don't pay up in full.

I'll of course be on to Montpelier in the morning with this but I am fuming that given that they've done nothing until very recently (this is for a 2007 return), they send the CN second class post (not recorded) two weeks ago saying I can appeal and then send this letter, also second class demanding I pay up by the end of this month or else they'll send the bailiffs in. What happened to my right of appeal? And given it's taking them 5 weeks to process mail/appeals, it's just ridiculous!!! ARRRRRGH!!! Talk about using heavy-handed tactics.

The same thing happened to me. They said they had no obligation to even wait until the appeal period was over. I seriously considered locking all my doors and leaving the garage open as I need it cleared out. MontP did a sterling job, despite HMRC initially refusing to accept their calls as HMRC had removed Montp from their records as being my advisors. When they did eventually get through, HMRC lost the record of my appeal. When that was sorted out they continued to send me more bills anyway. Montp put them back in their place. The downside is, I had to hire a skip for the garage. Seriously though, it is worrying to have crap like that come through the letter box, but Montp will sort it. It's just a game to the revenue, don't let them grind you down. When writing to my MP I made the point that I hadn't read about any seizure notices being issued to the MPs who had flipped their homes. One rule for them, one for Joe Public.
