Unfortunately, and largely down to me, this is likely to fall on deaf ears. I don't think there are many officials involved in this, at HMRC or HM Treasury, that I haven't annoyed over the past 6 months.

Sadly, I also suspect that many of them who read my JCHR survey below will be thinking "serves 'em right!".

The problem is the higher up you go in HMRC the more callous and vindictive they seem to be, until you get to uber-chump himself Hartnett.

The message seems to be if you want make it up the ladder in HMRC then you have to be a heartless SOB.

I have generally found the people in the local tax offices to be friendly and reasonable. Unfortunately, these are not the swine we're up against.

I totally agree...I've also found that when you speak to the 'guy in the office' that they actually come across as really human and are more than happy to help...in fact they want to be seen to be helping and often will go beyond what you would normally expect them to do for you...

Ive also had dealings with Work&Pensions over the past 18 months and often the letters they send out are very heavy-handed...but when you actually speak to them on the phone they are pretty personable and only to happy to help and advise...believe it or not, when Ive had to speak to my local tax office theyve often been the same...Ive always found them to be very fair...

its a shame the guys at the top arent so willing to work with you to resolve any issues...

Then you are not dealing with Hammersmith! Thats where the BFH(ex-mrs bp) works. Well, I use the term work in the loosest possible sense. Her and her colleagues are evil scum. Probably on a level with her colleagues at Manchester.

The BFH is very very afraid of me. She knows how I deal with evil scum. For the moment I think its good for children to see their mother. But the time may come when I feel differently.

There is one case he would probably prefer to forget.

I think Hartnett was probably bullied at school and now he's taking it out on mankind.

Do you think he pays all his tax? Bet he has a few ISAs and Savings bonds. If he does, does that not make him guilty of tax avoidance?
