NW is now dealing with the local tax office on his behalf. Hopefully, he will be ok.Comment

Is it worth creating a government petition?
I have just received a CN for my 3 years with the scheme & have just fired off a letter (one of DRs) to my MP.
However is it worth creating a government petition (see link). I know we are only a few thousand people affected, but could it be worth a try to highlight our plight and cause embarrassment. I am due to give birth in 2 weeks, so I will not be able to pick this up easily, however if anyone thinks it is worth a try - maybe they could take this forward?

Thanks all for such an informative site.....Comment

Leaving Montpelier
Hi all,
I know this a little off-topic, but I though I would ask this here since this is really the "Montpelier" thread...
I am looking to leave MontP and go back to LTD as I don't like the new loan scheme and I also don't want hector chasing me for the rest of my life!
However, I am looking to make a "clean break", in so far that I want my tax return for 08/09 (which I am hoping will still be done by MontP even if leave) containing MontP funds only, then everything after (tax wise) to be handled by my accountants (still TBD), with no complications of IOM schemes needing to be included.
The problem is I am struggling to work out when to give notice to MontP - do I stay with them up to the 5th April - the money from this work period would be paid to me in April or May but which tax return would this money go on - 08/09 or 09/10?
Any help working out this out would be appreciated! I realise that I could have given notice earlier and then just provided ltd co accounts to MontP for the 08/09 return, but I didn't get off my backside and take any action earlier, so now we are nearing the end of the tax year, like I said, I would like to make a "clean" break.
Thanks for any help with this and also thanks to BP and DR for all their great work over the last few months!Comment

They will do a tax return for any year in which you have worked through them.
You could ask montp : but personally I would move now then just tell montp about any salary/dividends you have from now until 5th April. It is what I intend to do.

And another thing : if you want to work until the last possible date then use 31st March. montp treat the receipts from the partnership on an accruals basis - so for 08/09 it will be fees accrued in the 08/09 year, regardless of when they are paid to you. You should be able to start 09/10 with a clean slate then!Comment
