If they simplified the Tax system, they could probably get rid of most of them.
I wonder what the annual budget of HMRC is? I bet it's a lot more than all the money that is lost each year through avoidance (and evasion).
Since most tax is collected via PAYE, and everyone else does their own assessment, it makes you wonder what the point of HMRC is.
