Thought it was about time that I outed myself after months of being a spectator here.

I joined the scheme in 2001 and left in 2003, since when I've received a cheery Xmas letter most years from those plums at the HMRC.

Not sure how much they're after me for as I've not received a CN yet


Doubt that I've enough put by to pay whatever those scum want, so they can go go swing for it.

It's easy to see conspiracies in life when things don't go one's way, but they rarely happen. I suspect this is more down to the quality of the JR submission than anyone being out to get us.

It maybe that it was not possible to inject a higher level of quality into the JR with the information available at that time, rather than the representation being sub-par.

I have been working with a couple of other people to come up with a stonking letter to send to the Government. We have already written to our MPs, so we can't use it.

If anyone out there hasn't written to their MP already, and would like to send this letter, please PM me.

I also think HMRC would do well to realise just how bloody minded the British can be.

And, unlike HMRC, as contractors we are used to being proactive and resourceful.

Delurking

Hi,

Just wanted to delurk. The information and time some people are going to on this forum is simply commendable; it is extremely appreciated.

I have been with the scheme since 2005, and I dont have the money to pay the bill. I have a family, so this at times ascends from feeling overwhelmed to feeling damned right angry at the injustice. The only good to be distilled from the vessel of anger is the passion to remain steadfast, to get up and fight the next battle; shoulder to shoulder. I have no ability to know how this will eventually end, but I know I will die with my sword in my hand.

Today, I stand well, rested and prepared for the next phase. As a husband, a father, a citizen of the United Kingdom, I will make sure I do everything to protect the wellfare and future of my homestead. This is not just some triviality, just some dispute over tax. The fettling and the massaging by the HMRC of the truths to change reality is nothing but a repugnant miasma of corruption and underhand abuse against the populous.

It is not the tax I must pay that drives me forward, but the heartfelt desire to ensure I have done the very best that I can do to help my children walk alone into a world that is safe, respectful and fair.

So far there is nothing of this case I would wish to share with my children lest it begin to engender a simple mistrust in humanity. Thats why I stand well, rested and prepared for the next phase.

Just to be clear, I certainly am not suggesting anything illegal is going on behind the corridors of power; and hence I don't believe in any conspiracy.

That said, I have no doubt there is somewhere in the region of 50-150M at stake; as such it is a worthy cause for the goverments perspective to put significant resource and influence to secure this unjust leglistation.

All is said and done, the blow has come and gone and on to the next step.....

As each step progresses the scrutiny increases and hence the cracks will start to show, or put another way 'the devil is in the detail'.... and it is the detail that will undo the individuals and groups seeking to enact the leglistation

I agree the JR application seems to have lacked a lot of the detail whcih we have uncovered. I would be very interested to see the JR application a wellas the judges decision. Is there any way we can get sight of these documents.
