Cost about fourpence a month, balancing fees against interest. Used the helpdesk once, when a digital certificate got corrupted, all fixed (by a lady in Singapore) in around 10 minutes - on a Sunday...

Went with Abbey now Santander and have been happy with their service so far so good. And its all free depending on the use - sensible = free .

Cater Allen Reserve account

Hi there,
Can someone clarify for me, what happens with CA transactions in Euro. I spoke to a representative and I was convinced his answers to my questions were correct.
First he told me that I need to go through another application to have Euro business account and that I couldn't attach it to my Uk pound account.
Second, I want to know what the transactions fees are, if any.
Basically, I want to know when I invoice German agency and they pay me in Euros, will there be some crossborder charge for the transaction to reserve the money in Euros in a Euro account
And are there conversion charges if I don't have a Euro account and receive the money in my UK pound account.

Any info is appreciated as well as any other recommendations regarding good business accounts.

I was with RBS but have now switched to Cater Allen. RBS started adding on additional charges and it was becoming expensive. Their credit card was also crap and charged £35/pa and I still had to phone customer service on 0871 numers (cha-ching). I like the CA debit card as I always paid the balance in full on the RBS credit card anyway. And..the RBS account paid no interest either.

The RBS business account paid NO interest ? then how does their 'Business Account' Mortgage offset account work ?

So no good for the vast majority of us with Ltd's then
