Seriously though, Montpelier are currently marketing their new scheme. A friend of a friend is going to a presentation tomorrow. He might find out some info on the new plan!
I wonder if they will tell any new people about the existing scheme and its current status??

Where is the presentation? I went to LOndon office to discuss 2 weeks ago - they were very honest.

it was a long time ago, 5 years since I was in the scheme, but 35k , if demanded immediateley will make me insolvent. so easy to say now why didnt anything get saved, but at the time there was lots going on, and in between, I sold up, moved to NZ, moved back, had to start up again etc.. etc.. everyones different and its very easy to judge.. also i wasnt in London rates, so no, I wasn't mintng it....

When is the Judicial Review taking place and is there any likelyhood that it will bring about any changes to the legislation?

Well on the basis that I have had a total comms blackout from Montp Im getting nervous and have just sent a mail to Warr & co for info on their claims around the agent having to pay any tax owing as its deemed employment. Cant hurt to know what they think is possible and I want to weigh up all my options....I want to ensure I keep the options open, its everyman for themselves in this one...

Someone having to go onto a public website to find out what their supposed agents plans are, is testament to the poor comms we are getting, and what seems to be a dont give a sh*t attitude...The only reason (I suspect) there is any pushback by montp on this is for selfish reasons.

Pretty soon was the indication I was given by Montp although no confirmed date. I asked whether within a month or 2 and was told probably.

This may not be popular but already expressed by many, I am not confident that MontP are confident that they will win this argument.

Definitely time to prepare for the worst and hope for the best.

How have you tried to contact montpelier? Have you phoned or emailed? Who to? Feel free to PM me if you prefer.

So far I have had good communications from montp - but I believe they are swamped with alot of questions while trying to prepare accounts for 05/06 and prepare for a JR. I would prefer them to fight HMRC than communicate with me!

IMO anything from Warr & Co is likely to be biased.

However this gets to court it will be a long fight and will probably go to Europe. Will take years. Is there a better option to waiting?

do as maddog is doing and start to get advice, look at your assets etc.

I cannot cover my complete liability at the moment but will get a CTD to cover as much as I can and am trying to determine how to cover the rest.
