I just starting working for an Umbrella company, some questions..

    Hi all,

I have recently taken a job as a welcome team manager for quite a new umbrella company, and would love to get some feedback from you all here as to what you look for in an umbrella company provider.

Assuming the basic function of you being paid on time and correctly is met, what are the differentiating factors that would make you choose one umbrella company provider over another?

Is it all about take home pay?

    Compliance?

    Customer Service?

    Knowledge?

I really want to make the experience of dealing with my company a pleasurable one, and you all seem so very passionate about companies you like and dislike so I think there is a lot I can learn.

    Thanks in advance,

    Chris

Hahaha... No, it's nothing to do with Prosperity4. I never thought of that as our sales pitch. "Use us! We are not Prosperity4!"

Any help is much appreciated, though. Thanks.

I like my umbrella to be offshore.

We are an onshore company. From what I can tell, the key message of the company is one of ultra-compliance, but I am a touch unsure if that is the number 1 issue with contractors, and want to see if I am right or wrong.

The number 1 issue with me at the moment is ... are you solvent? Not one you can answer I reckon since none of the P4 account managers seemd to be expecting administration!!

The question of solvency seems to quite obviously be a very hot topic at the moment. As you quite rightly say, there is not masses that I can do to assure you that we are. What about addressing this issue thoroughly and clearly in our contracts, would this make you feel more comfortable?

agreed with the offshore thing. We are not going to be moving offshore, sorry.
