As far as I am aware, it is to do with their expense policy, company structure and regular HMRC audits. I haven't actually started the role yet (start on monday) and I will come back with more indepth answer then.

May I ask, "compliant" with what? Your business model is to employ contractors, pay them a salary, manage their expenses and pay their taxes using their generated income. So, other than the Companies Act and the various FSA rules, what compliances do you think apply to contractors?

So they say! I bet they are, as we speak, hurriedly flogging the remaining fixtures & fittings from their offices on e-bay, just before their taxis to the airport arrive.

The question of solvency seems to quite obviously be a very hot topic at the moment. As you quite rightly say, there is not masses that I can do to assure you that we are. What about addressing this issue thoroughly and clearly in our contracts, would this make you feel more comfortable?

Hahaha... No, it's nothing to do with Prosperity4. I never thought of that as our sales pitch. "Use us! We are not Prosperity4!"

Any help is much appreciated, though. Thanks.

Assuming the basic function of you being paid on time and correctly is met, what are the differentiating factors that would make you choose one umbrella company provider over another?

Is it all about take home pay?

    Compliance?

    Customer Service?

    Knowledge?

I really want to make the experience of dealing with my company a pleasurable one, and you all seem so very passionate about companies you like and dislike so I think there is a lot I can learn.

    Thanks in advance,
