Does anyone know of any good software to keep track of my company. Most of the software out there is for a company with many employees, suppliers, etc. I just want one to replace my spreadsheet, i.e. invoice handling, vat (frv), expenses, dividends, PAYE, etc.? it would be good if the software displayed the figures you needed for the relevant forms you need to complete throught the year :-)

I would stick to the spreadsheet IMHO. Can't see how setting up and running any software is going to be less time consuming or flexible than excel.

For sure :-) its just that I am a developer and spreadsheets seem so fragile and manual I was hoping for a system where I just fill in the boxes :-D

Suppose I will have to write my own, when I get a spare month :-(

I first wished there was something like this out there but then discovered that it only take me about 10 mins a week to update sales, payments and milleage (i have 3 spreadsheets) and for 10 mins a week it isn't worth doing anything about it.

Excel is much more flexible but you are right, prone to error. I recently did a check and discovered I owed another £680 in VAT due to not carrying cash accounting items through from prev year due to a bug. Bummer.
