Been using Crunch for over 10 years and they have been really good and their online system is easy to use. Last few months they have really gone down hill and their customer service is now rubbish. Anyone recommend an online accounts to provide an online similar service to Crunch ?

As are many other accountants. Do your research OP."I can put any old tat in my sig, put quotes around it and attribute to someone of whom I've heard, to make it sound true."

The main issue you've got is that Crunch use a proprietary system. If you were using FreeAgent with accountant X, it's pretty straightforward to continue using it with accountant Y, and you can look for comments/reviews about which accountant is best. However, in this case you'll need to move to a new accountant and new software. So, my advice is to start by choosing which software you want to use, then look for an accountant who will work with that software, unless you want to switch to another proprietary system.
I wrote a long post a few years ago, comparing Crunch to FreeAgent:
Crunch vs FreeAgent - Contractor UK Bulletin Board
Some of the details are probably out of date now, but you might find it useful as a starting point. For instance, do you ever spend/receive money in foreign currencies? I.e. is that an important feature for you or completely irrelevant?Comment
