I wonder what will happen to the chappie who was on here a while back. He claimed a BBL. Looks like he spunked the cash. Well, it sure didnt look like he was careful in managing his company. Then tried to say he was missold a BBL!
He did come across as a bit of a pr!ck.
    Anyone remember?

Whether companies took care to calculate that properly is another matter.
Yeah I remember those discussions but you can see how it's going to be so easy for companies, generally smaller ones, to totally abuse this by asking their employees to work certain days and still stay in full furlough. I know two people who are back in two to three days a week but still be on furlough so total piss take. I've told them to raise a grievance that they are now working but still on 80% pay. It's too much of a gift horse for many small companies to not abuse surely? That's not including the ones that are claiming for people that aren't even working etc.

He will be right in the firing line if it is targeting people that haven't paid it back. Just whether or not he can prove he has used it properly, which he won't as he's just paid it to himself and not claimed the company is in financial trouble as the original article in the first post indicated.

If your company was in financial difficulty when applying for a Bounce Back Loan, an insolvency procedure should have been pursued.
Difficult not to argue a one man LTD on the bench that needs a BBL isn't in financial difficulty.

Dave B called it right in that thread.

The Ratings (Coronavirus) and Directors Disqualification (Dissolved Companies) Bill will allow retrospective investigation and action to be taken against directors and can lead to disqualification and personal liability if they are found to have dissolved their company with outstanding debts.

Deliberately emptying the company coffers in order to appear insolvent and avoid loan or tax payments falls into that category.
