    MTD and FRS

A quick one folks, I'm on the VAT FRS still, and use Excel for my book keeping.

I have a sheet that autoy calculates each box value per VAT period which I've used to fill in the VAT submission form on the HMRC website.

Presumably bridging tools simply submit the box values to HMRC via an API so I could use a free Excel add in like Avalara and start submitting via MTD straight away, but I wanted to check whether the Box definitions are any different when using MTD for FRS?

Example box 6 as always asks in it's description for Sales excl. VAT but in FRS this is the period FR turnover. Would there be any issue in mapping the excel calculated value for FR turnover I have for Box 6 and submitting regardless of the description stating sales ex vat?

The form is exactly the same. So your existing mapping for FRS will be fine.

Are you sure FRS is best for you what with the changes to VAT for contractors?

          This. ^^^^^

As a hint to the OP. If you’re on 16.5% frs you might as well be on standard.
If on a different rate you’ve done it wrong..
