Tax Reference Number Where is it

writing a cheque for Revenue and Customs it says that I need to make it payable to HM Revenue & Customs then right my tax reference after it, where will I find my tax ref is it on the yellow payment slip Ive got for them ?

The UTR is a ten digit number it should be one most things they send you usually under ref.

But this is a tax and PAYE payment from my limited to the rev for its Nov payroll so I assume its not the same as my personal reference number. ??

It's on the payslip, top left, mine is 3 numeric 2 alpha 8 numeric 4 numeric. The clue is in the label of the box, where it says "Reference"

Cheers thought it was that but it seemed a long number to add after the HM & Reve bit, requires small letters

I had the same thought first time I had to enter it... Probably part of some work creation scheme somewhere, I can't believe my scrawl is machine readable!
