    Taxman - income tax

My current contract : I'm in the 40% bracket. What i need is savvy experiance to know how to maximise that, short of doing overtime everyweek?

I also have bad credit as I've move house so many times in order to get experience and work. Can i deal with that too?

To be or not to be... or get someone else to be, and take the slack for it.

Whilst I do not know all your details, if you are not caught by IR35 you would get to keep more of your money with your own limited company.

Ok, and what about the bad credit? Due to moving so much... I've had a company before, but rarely passed any credit checks elsewhere so didnt want to be turned away from my bank...

Moving does not give you a bad credit rating, bad money management gives you a bad credit rating.

I would suggest getting your credit files from Equifax, Experian and Callcredit (I think they are the main 3 off the top of my head). You can then get amendments made if the information is incorrect and also fill them in on your residential history so that they can build a full credit background for you and this will fix your credit rating.

It does Ardesco - I'm in the same boat. I havn't been on the electoral register anywhere for years, which has resulted in me having a crappy credit score.

Getting amendments made can be a nightmare. The default assumption is that you are a lying scumbag. You have to send reams of documentary evidence to prove what you are saying is true.

You can have a notice put on your file saying "information in dispute", but only for 28 days.

              Moving house often

              and

not being bothered to fill in a compulsory form once a year

              are not the same thing.

You ought to be on the electoral register once a year, every year.
(and that's with the old yearly registration process).

If you're a tenant, often the landlords will do that for you, or equally often they wont, so it's not always your choice. As far as I'm aware, I've had 3 forms filled in the last 6 years.

If we are just talking about adding a list of addresses that you have lived at so that you can build a valid picture of your credit background it shouldn't be a problem. Just by filling in a form asking for your cedit record and putting in everywhere you have lived will fix that.

Financially disassociating yourself from somebody is also relativly simple (I've had to do that a coulpe of times).

The problems come in when some company says you owe them money when you do not and that can take time to fix, the rest should really not be a problem.

Finally not being on the electoral role is your fault tbh, moving around doesn't prevent you from being added to the elctoral role....
