    Plan to increase National Insurance scrapped - BBC News
    More info will appear shortly one would presume.

    Not a major thing in the grand scheme of things but every little helps. (until they take it by other means..)

          That means they'll have to make up for loss of tax with increased taxes on what they did not mention in manifesto - like dividends...

            TBH I was thinking, if the benefit of being self employed reach such a stage that it isn't "worth" it then the Chancellor would have an even larger hole in his tax system because he'd "lose" all the free VAT collecting we all do for HMRC.

                All this fuss and bluster *might* be good news for the contracting sector in the short term (putting the off-payroll stuff to one side). Spreadsheet Phil may now steer clear of messing around with the "flexible workforce" as he's now been burnt trying to meddle.

                Autumn budget will be interesting.
