Ultimately though, if your USP is that you are the voice of contractors and you haven't been successful (I'm not blaming just stating a fact ) in the big battles,it begs the Q why exist. I personally think they could have done more (scenarios etc to debunk myths). It may not have worked but their single pronged approach does feel like they rolled over a little early

No it isn't. Go and ask your average barrister or tax specialist to give you 7 hours of their time for £350...Originally posted by SlipTheJab View PostTrue we are in an industry where we can say '350 notes a day is not enough and I wouldn't get out of bed for a rate as low as that', it is nuts when you think about it

That's wrong on so many levels. Perhaps you should properly understand what they do and what they have done before slagging them off for being single-issue failures. When you do understand, then you can criticise, and people will listen.Originally posted by youngguy View PostUltimately though, if your USP is that you are the voice of contractors and you haven't been successful (I'm not blaming just stating a fact ) in the big battles,it begs the Q why exist. Until you remember that a permie doing the same job will cost his employer roughly the same per day as you do. And continues to do so, gainfully employed and 100% utilised (none get above 80% incidentally) or not.Originally posted by SlipTheJab View PostTrue we are in an industry where we can say '350 notes a day is not enough and I wouldn't get out of bed for a rate as low as that', it is nuts when you think about it
I do agree the perception is a real problem, but 90% of people have no idea on the true costs of employment and the economics of using temporary resources. Hence the "overpaid contractor" thing that will be difficult to shift.Blog? What blog...?

I wasn't particularly slagging them off. I've been a member for over 8 years so am well aware of what they offer, what they do and what the majority (based on their forums and this forum) seem to use them for (insurance being top it seems).Originally posted by malvolio View PostThat's wrong on so many levels. I certainly didn't call them failures , but they have been unsuccessful on this issue , as well as several others and in a world where many won't need insurance...the offers of aggressive forums, templates and money off from Brookson may not be that appealing.Comment
