    Auto enrolment

    Hello,

I have made a few researches on internet but couldn't find an answer.

It is possible to opt out the auto enrolment scheme if "you’re a sole director company, with no other staff".
I am a sole director company however part of my earning are taken via PAYE salary. So am I considered as a staff of my own company? If so, would it be impossible for me to opt out?

    Thanks for your help!

No you're not but even if you were considered staff, the clue is in the word "other".

    It's the first FAQ:

A director is not an employee of the company. Just because he doesn't work it doesn't mean he's an employee. A director isnt bound by the NMW and has no contract of employment etc.

      Have a read of this.

Presumably from a phone box using a pseudonym? To me, "sole director with no intention of employing anyone" screams "this guy might be worth investigating for IR35"
