Have you got a solicitor? If not, get one.Originally posted by Andy2 View PostI left a client site and foolishly emailed myself few files just for my records. Now client is claiming that i have done data breach and threatening with civil proceedings. What should i do, please advice
You're in breach, simple as that - you've admitted that you've done it, you know you've done it, they can prove you've done it even if you subsequently deny it.
What sort of things did you send yourself? The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world that he didn't exist -
Is this from the Agent or the Client, if the client its a lot more serious, is your insurance up to date?Originally posted by Andy2 View PostI left a client site and foolishly emailed myself few files just for my records. That's an understatement and a half!!Originally posted by Andy2 View PostI left a client site and foolishly emailed myself few files just for my records.
Get a solicitor, get some lube, drop them pants... Not necessarily in that order. Now client is claiming that i have done data breach and threatening with civil proceedings. What should i do, please advice
The question I have would be exactly what policy/agreement are they pulling you up for. There could be a raft of them all with different levels of seriousness. I'd take a punt that mailing client's data to yourself is outright theft so could be very serious. You've also been very cloak and dagger about what files. A few files that contained their entire customer records? If so we'll see you in the news shortly. A few things you created so an IP issue?
I'd stop posting on a public forum and go engage an expert.'CUK forum personality of 2011 - Winner - Yes really!!!!

It's a general overview of PI but I'm very surprised at this.'CUK forum personality of 2011 - Winner - Yes really!!!!

I think they'd probably 'lift the viel' in this case so closing the company won't help.Originally posted by Andy2 View PostIts from the client. In the contract it was mentioned to get 1 mill. PI insurance which i never got , in hindsight it was big mistake.
How much they can sue me for ? what if i close the company ?Comment

OMFG..... So you were in breach of contract the whole way though as well?... Jesus... What a car crash. You can't make this stuff up.Originally posted by Andy2 View PostIts from the client. They can sue you for an unlimited amount. Just depends on how valuable they can make out the breach to be.
Closing the company won't work. They can go for you directly by Lifting/Piercing the corporate veil and see beyond the company structure.'CUK forum personality of 2011 - Winner - Yes really!!!!

Hmmm, you seem very active in General and have been around for awhile so I would have thought you would have known how to post more information and better still known that this forum isn't the place to help you. You sure you are not just posting a question and appearing to play dumb in an attempt to Troll us?'CUK forum personality of 2011 - Winner - Yes really!!!!
