If this is the case, I'll just roomshare/rent and pay the full week and go home Friday. As most roomshare I've found is based on a weekly/monthly basis including sat/sun.
I'm paying rent on a monthly basis. I once got a discount on a room share because I would only be staying either Sunday night or Monday night to Friday morning and he was happy to have his flat to himself at weekends.

You mention "all your equipment" - is it a white van full, or a couple of bags?

Is it work related, or is it your world of warcraft costume so you can play games all night?

If it's work related, is there a reason why you can't leave it at clientco?

Some hotels/B&Bs will let regular guests leave stuff in a secure place in the hotel, so if you don't need it at the weekend you might be able to leave it there.

It's one payment including all bills and decent broadband, paid weekly and only 2 weeks notice when I leave.

It was actually advertised as 'contractor accommodation', the guy who runs it used to be one. It' so much easier as I don't have to take all my stuff home, can cook and do my washing there when I've got nothing else to do anyway.
Yep this is what i intend to do to save money. When you claim back your 5 days or whatever do, what does it day on your receipt? Do you make sure on your receipt it says 4 nights?

It shouldn't matter. If you travel down on Sunday night ready for Monday, that's fine is what I've been told. Trains from Manchester on a Sunday evening always cost off-peak or less depending upon how far in advance you book, while I've not seen anything the right side of £87 for a while on a Monday morning. If you're paying £600pm for your room then you may as well make use of the Sunday evening. You're demonstrating that you're a business by trying to reduce the bottom line through cost savings.

Thanks for the advice, really helpful. So it it's 600pcm, I can claim back 5/7ths of that, provided I go home Friday and come back Monday (Sunday night).

Eh? That completely contradicts what you said in your original post....

Ask your accountant. It may be a different arrangement if you have a Sunday night to Friday lunchtime agreement with your landlord-type person. If you're only paying for Sunday night to Friday lunchtime, you'd be able to claim it all back as you would be using it for anything other than business.
