When I was a Permie I enjoyed reminding the contractors how I was being paid for that extra Royal wedding bank holiday or whatever nonsense it was.

Despite being WFH my contract says I can't bill for 24th Dec - 3rd Jan.

Indeed. One ClientCo I took a half day. I billed so 4 hours. I still got a full days money! I pulled that trick a few times after that....
