Are you counting back 24 months from the expected (or intended) end of the gig? 'Cos that how it works, and none of your examples meet the 24 month rule assuming Loc A & B are far enough apart: Example 1 is 15 months, 2 is 18 and 3 is 21.
So ( and I know I'm going to regret this)...
Example 4
Loc A 10 months
Loc B 5 months
Loc A 18 months
From the end of the 3rd one, you have spent 19 months out of 24 at Loc A so no problem. Add a further 6 month extension and then you have to stop claiming.
Example 5
Loc a 10 months
Loc B 2 months
Loc A 18 months
Now you have 24 months at Loc A with a 2 month (or 17%) interruption, so fail on the 40% rule.
