A.Y.F.M.?I was an IPSE Consultative Council Member, until the BoD abolished it. I am not an IPSE Member, since they have no longer have any relevance to me, as an IT Contractor. Read my lips...I recommend QDOS for ALL your Insurance requirements (Contact me for a referral code).Comment

Are you one Ltd with two "proper" contractors then? That is more complicated than a typical ContractorLtd since you have two people submitting invoices and being paid, etc... on that basis your monthly fee - about twice what is normal - would make sense.Originally posted by iguy2008 View PostHi - yes they do the company books but they also contract to and end client 3 days a week as an office manager SAP Business One person
But it seems very high to me. Are they a contractor specialist or a local small business accountant?
If you want to look around, InTouch and NixonWilliams get consistently good feedback here (as well as others). I'm with InTouch and would recommend them - just over £100+VAT per month. I'd welcome a referral bonus but recommend them even without that.Originally posted by MaryPoppinsI'd still not breastfeed a naziOriginally posted by vetranUrine is quite nourishingComment

I pay £96 inc. VAT pm. For that I get unlimited advice subject to fair use on all company matters, advice on personal taxation matters, a review of my books (I use FreeAgent and do them myself), my annual accounts completed and submitted and my corporation tax return each year.Comment

Hi Im definitely a single Limited company with 2 proper contractors. The accountant was recommended by my brother in law but is a corporate accountant and I suspect Im simply to small for them.Originally posted by d000hg View PostAre you one Ltd with two "proper" contractors then? Someone is taking you for a serious ride.Originally posted by iguy2008 View PostHi
I have been with my current accountant for about 9 months and agreed to a fee of £250 per month +VAT.
This covers the usual services for my partner and I.
My affairs were complicated so also agreed to a one off payment of £3K for advice.
I have now received a letter saying they its a new fiscal year and have reviewed my account now propose a figure of £350 per month +VAT.
I would appreciate any advice on the general view. Im not unhappy with the accountant but a 40% increase at a time when ratesare going down is ringing alarm bells.
Thanks.
