    Ltd company address

    Hi all,

I am very new to the job world in general (fresh graduate here) and being not from UK I may ask stupid question so please apologise me if so.

I was thinking to go on the ltd company route for my contract, unfortunately my tenancy agreement prohibit me to use my address as company address. Do you know if there is a way to circumvent this (a company that provide the address for me or something like that) or am I bound to the Umbrella company option?

Also, do you have any quick sheet I have to read when consider going limited?

    Thanks,

    Marc

If you go into the Accounting/Legal forum you'll discover the thread Basic advice when running your own contractor business.

Guide to Contracts also has some good articles.

Do you want advice on the state of the contract market for your specialism/location? Have a look at this website; it will answer most if not all of your questions: http://www.itjobswatch.co.uk

And have a go with a search. Company addresses has been discussed a number of time. Hint: have a look at the services that accountants can offer as an extra

My accountant didn't offer registering MyCo at their branch as a chargeable extra, but wanted me to register MyCo at their premises anyway. I took it that registering MyCo at their premises was in their interest as it made it more inconvenient for me to move accountants if I wanted to later.

For what it is worth MyCo is registered at my address and not my accountants.

They don't do it just to tie you in and make it hard to move. It's a valuable and useful service.

I am sure it is very valuable for many, the OP included. I however don't see the service as being in my best interests and so choose not to use it.

Does that make me completely wrong?

                  Thank you all,
I will read the links and perform a thorough search when home tonight!

You spoke about accountants providing this service, but what if I don't want their accountancy services but just the address one? Do you know some accountant that offer this option?

You know there is a difference between registered address and trading address right?
