Ha ha, you couldn't make it up!Originally posted by JaredM View PostWell an APN arrived some days ago. Odd thing: it is addressed to an individual I've no connection with (totally different name and address to me). Forwarded on immediately to Montp.
I suspect that may be why HMRC bods are busy trying to call people to find out who received one and who didn't?

I've moved address 4 times since the MTM scheme started. What's the chances of me receiving an APN?

What a shambles they are. On that topic, i received my APN warning almost a month ago, but no sign of the actual APN - i'm slightly torn between contacting them to see if they have sent it, or just staying quiet, but with f###k ups like this going on, who is in the wrong if in 60 days time they bill me and say they sent something, and i didn't acually get it ? Presumably i will be...Originally posted by JaredM View PostWell an APN arrived some days ago. There have been some Tribunal cases about "delivery" of assessments etc.Originally posted by GBHuhd View PostWhat a shambles they are. If you have moved AND told HMRC but they fail to send to the latest address you gave them, arguably an APN to a former address is not "served".
If you have moved and NOT told HMRC, then if a notice/demand is sent to the last address they have, it may still be "served" even if you don't get it. If the demand is unpaid because you didn't know it was in existence, you may still have a penalty in such circumstances.
One of the features of self assessment is that YOU have to tell HMRC where you are.Best Forum Adviser & Forum Personality of the Year 2018.

The problem here seems to be that HMRC know where we are, but have used their IT expertise to send APNs elsewhere.Originally posted by webberg View PostThere have been some Tribunal cases about "delivery" of assessments etc.
