If you had enquires opened late under discovery, or received discovery assessments (also referred to as notice of assessment), the following might be of interest:

Yep, looks like they rejected the requests, which is often the case.

HINT: there is some information in the requests themselves which people, who've had discoveries, might find useful.

Some people who've taken the initiative and challenged discovery enquiries have already had those years closed off (with no further tax to pay).

          Huitson appeal

According to the Upper Tax Tribunal, Montpelier's appeal was quote "seriously late".

As a result, the entire appeal has been put in jeopardy. A Judge will decide whether it will be allowed.

Montpelier's appeal was so late, in fact, that HMRC had already started gearing up to issue Follower Notices to everyone.

Let's hope the appeal is allowed or the dreaded Follower Notices will be winging our way.

PS. according to my Accountants, late appeals are very rarely accepted, unless there are exceptional circumstances.

So it looks like we may be shafted.

              Not good!
              Let's hope it still happens.

Was of time and effort. The government do everything HMRC tell them to do.

I'd not checked in this thread for ages... it all seems to have gone quiet, did you have to pay up in the end or is it STILL going on?
