Just a gentle reminder in response to quite a number of emails we have been receiving - we won't be activating private forum logons until all paperwork has been received by CCW.

Please don't worry though as a) no members have access yet and b) there won't be much to read yet!

    Thanks

    Santa
Great and thanks for confirming private forum access.
All docs in post today. First class and recorded delivery. £2.87 well spent ;-)

        Scanned PDFs

        Hi DR

Can you please confirm if CNs can be scanned as PDFs and emailed?

        Is this acceptable. ..

        Thanks Banchini.

The forms have to be original signed documents for the FTT, so you may as well put everything in the post.

CNs/Enquiries/Discovery Assessments - where to get them?

I've turned my house upside down. Seems that I've found everything apart from the paperwork I need.

I've even found the letter from HMRC saying "please find enclosed copies of the letters you have asked for regarding tax years bla bla bla" but not the actual letters.

I know we all asked for copies a long time ago but I'm thinking we may then have forwarded then on to someone.

Luckily Montpelier have all the paperwork but unfortunately are too busy to send me copies.

In the meantime I figure I should just write and ask for copies.

Can anybody recommend the best HMRC address to write to and what to actually ask for?

Same here. I was abroad when Closure Notices arrived and the originals were forwarded onto Montp so I don't have a copy.

In the past I have sent enquiries via the HMRC online gateway and these have been forwarded onto the correct team.

The correspondence we had from HMRC last month came from here:

                HM Revenue & Customs
                Counter-Avoidance Team 17
                S0836
                NEWCASTLE
                NE98 1ZZ

Just ask for copies of the Closure Notices for each tax year you were in the scheme. You could also ask for copies of enquiries for each tax year as well, so you can check the CNs are valid.

Thanks DR. Letter written and will be posted tomorrow.

It would be a real shame if everybody wrote to HMRC asking for the same - a lot of time has passed and I'm sure many of us have moved house or lost the paperwork.

What happens if I wrote to HMRC, and they say they cant find my CN's, BUT say that there system said they where issued. I never recall ever actually receiving one, and I have kept all paperwork for this in a folder.

I wrote again a while back and asked them to cancel the inquiry as they appear not to have any of my paperwork, of course they declined.

Do we actually have to have a CN in order to be able to participate?

If you haven't got a CN, or assessment, then there is nothing to appeal against, and you can't apply to the FTT.

I'm really surprised you never received any.

Do you have access to HMRC on-line? Does it show any suspended payments.
