48 hour work week opt out?

I recently came across that.
I think the regulation is pretty sensible - the 48 hours is averaged over 17 week reference period.
If you're consistently doing more than that, then there's clearly something wrong with the whole setup.

In such a scenario I don't really need to opt out of these regulations anyway, right?

As a director of your company you control the number of hours you work.

If you wish to work an 84 hour week or a 32 hour one then it's up to you.

even if you were an umbrella worker, why would it matter signing it? you are not forced to do over 48 hours a week, its just that without signing it you couldn't be asked to even if you wanted.

I wouldnt have entertained any role where I'd have been expected to work 48 hours in any week.
