Devil is in the detail (which I quoted above).

Now was clientco's named anywhere on your ticket / initial purchase or did you purchase it in a personal capacity to expense later.....

I purchased it with a business debit card. So it is a business to business transaction.

It's like talking to a brick wall. It doesn't matter. Zero rated = no VAT invoice required.

And even if that wasn't the case (i.e. There was a VAT element), it's not a case of being B2B, but of you being VAT registered at the point of supply AND them having evidence of this, e.g. your VAT number. Non registered businesses aren't entitled to a VAT invoice just the same as consumers aren't.

But that's a moot point because the fundamental thing here is that they don't have to give you a VAT invoice for a zero rated supply.

CP your exceptions do NOT apply as VAT was charged on parking.

Well why didn't you say so in your original post?

Nevertheless unless you supplied a VAT number at the point of supply I still don't think you are entitled to a VAT invoice. As far as they are concerned it was a B2C transaction. The card you paid with is irrelevant.

Still not sure why your client needs a VAT invoice though. What are they going to do with it? They can't reclaim the VAT themselves.

Surely you should issue a VAT invoice to your client.

I have done that. However they want to see a copy of the VAT invoice. As I have asked for one they have to issue one. There are time limits and penalties.
