Now where did I put it?

How often do you put something in a "safe place" so you can't forget where it is, only to have absolutely no freaking idea exactly where you put it when you do need it?

    <wait, is it ..... rustles round for 10 minutes>

Tip: if so, post an angry/frustrated thread on CUK .... I just found it

      Not Necessarily.

It is, however, always in the last place you look.

I get caught out by this one as well.

Me : Where are my keys. I am sure I put them on my desk/chair/floor/wherever I dropped them
Mrs : Have you looked where they should be?
          Me :
          Mrs : Found them yet?
          Me : Might have.

I normally hide things in a safe place to stop the missus 'tidying' them which seems to be a euphemism for turning organised chaos into pure chaos

Shame I usually forget where I hide things though
Socialism is inseparably interwoven with totalitarianism and the abject worship of the state.

No Socialist Government conducting the entire life and industry of the country could afford to allow free, sharp, or violently-worded expressions of public discontent.

The solution to that is to have an area that is your responsibility: BBG & I both have studies, they are both are a mess, but we each know where our stuff is.

The cleaner only hovers the bit of carpet / dust the bits they can see.

The rest of the house is tidy; when guests visit I just close the study doors.

This drives me insane at times!

Me: "Where are the *whatever it is that has vanished*?"
Mrs MUN: "Have you looked in the *whatever it is that has vanished* drawer/box?"
Me: "The what? When did we get one of those? Which one is it?"
Mrs MUN *opens an unrelated drawer/box*: "Look, it's here".
Me: "When did that become the *whatever it is that has vanished* drawer/box?"
Mrs MUN: "I reorganised it ages *yeah right* ago"
                  Me: "No one told me"
Mrs MUN: "Well they are always in there"
Me: "Clearly they bloody aren't as I have never seen this before and I normally find them pretty easily"

                  etc.
