Evening everyone. New to contracting......

I'm Ash, new to contracting as I started last October.

Currently working in the nuclear industry as a QA engineer and I'm on the verge of going from umbrella to ltd for a 2 year contract I've been offered.

Going to use these forums for as much research as possible prior to pressing go with the ltd. company plan.

Evening Ash! Cheers for signing up and well done on landing a 2 year contract. Have you had the contract reviewed to make sure it is fit for purpose in terms of IR35?

Cheers, I've been reading a little bit through google searches on topics that have brought up the forum. Downloaded the app and its great!

Not sure about the contract question really. I will have to search the forum to read into this.

Tradition then dictates that we bestow many dancing bananas upon the successful contractor. You will not see the bananas on the app unfortunately. Have one for getting the 2 year gig

Engineering contractors apparently appear to be a different breed from most IT contractors. They can end up in companies for longer than most permies. 99% wouldn't know IR35 if it came and bit them on the arse and the 1% that do sneer and laugh at it.

They also appear to be the guys keeping the EBT's in fresh meat.
