    Accommodation Expenses

    Hello,

Apologies if this has been asked before! Just in the process of going from perm-contractor and sorting out an accountant. As I will be relocating for the contraction, i understand I can pay for accommodation out of expenses as long as I currently pay rent/have a mortgage, however, can I only claim for Mon-Fri? So, if renting a flat ends up cheaper, will I have to contribute the weekend cost?

    Many thanks in advance.

Will you be staying there at the weekends or just during the working week?

Renting a place usually means signing a six month minimum lease, you do know that? Don't rely on a six-month or six-month plus contract lasting that long.

Just during the week but obviously its a monthly fixed cost on a short term lease

The best thing to do is talk to your accountant and explain your exact circumstances e.g. where you live normally.

Make sure the flat you are claiming for is:
          1. Fully furnished as you cannot claim any furnishings.
          2. Is big enough only for you to stay there otherwise you cannot claim if others stay with you.
