Run 3rd Party apps not on the app store.
Fully customizable.
Remove Apple restrictions (facetime over 3/4g)

Apples USP is that they control the whole eco system which means you know everything that they say it can do, it will do without question, introducing uncontrolled content will destabilise the things that work well

And Facetime works over 3/4G on iPhone 4S onwards,
And spending £600-700 on a premium phone only to skimp £100ish for all the apps/games you will need...
