A man after my own heart, if you want your invoices to look really pretty in UHD.
Never has a man been heard to say on his death bed that he wishes he'd spent more time in the office.

In its day, one of these knocked out some pretty impressive invoices:

Make sure that it's at last a 6gb graphics card to future proof it, for running on multiple 4k monitors....
Socialism is inseparably interwoven with totalitarianism and the abject worship of the state.

No Socialist Government conducting the entire life and industry of the country could afford to allow free, sharp, or violently-worded expressions of public discontent.

Thinking that because it's "the company's money" it doesn't count is definitely foolish

Anyway did the OP ever buy anything?

Meh, I dunno - horses for courses and all that

I wanted a new laptop, I needed something powerful for a variety of reasons - to me, it was either buy myself or have MyCo buy it. Given the choice of who paid, I think I made the right one

Ultimately, it is a business tool - alright, the discrete gfx card may not have been necessary - and as the business I am in requires a certain level of hardware (actually stipulated in my current contract!) then there really was nothing foolish involved. To my mind, it was fortuitous that the contract had such stipulations, as it lined up nicely with what I wanted, but wasn't sure I could justify
