Shockwave Flash plugin spoiling my Firefox browsing experience?

Chrome
I've started to get this error in Chrome on Win 8.1, even removed it and updated to the latest version. not as buggy, but still hangs occasionally. -
Originally posted by http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/flash-player-google-chrome.htmlThe Google Chrome browser (32 bit) includes Adobe Flash Player built-in. Accordingly, it's not necessary for Chrome to download Flash Player separately.Comment

Had the same issue on chrome, you will probably have two conflicting version, disable one of them. Google for instructionsComment

It could be that the Flash plugin is 64-bit but the Firefox binary is 32 bit? At home I have Freebsd and I have the opposite config: FF is native 64 bit but the plugin is 32bit.
I have read that FF 24 should eliminate the need for Flash altogether and rely entirely on HTML5 and MPEG-4 rendering, however I've tested it on Freebsd and it's very buggy. I can't test it at clientco because Flash is not installed on their machines and I have no admin rights. I have Win 7 on a PC at home but I can't be bothered.<Insert idea here> will never be adopted because the politicians are in the pockets of the banks!Comment

I prefer Firefox's GUI etc., but I've given up using it. There's no getting around it: compared to Chrome and the modern IE it's just dog slow. For example this forum's reply page would cause it to use lots of CPU and make typing response slow just because of all the animated icons over there ---->.
I think they're trying to do "hardware acceleration" and making a pigs ear of it, and graphics performance in general, and that probably creates an extra problem with a plugin like Flash that works in a different Windows window. So it might get better if you can turn some of that stuff off. Will work inside IR35. Or for food.Comment

Beats me why people always laud Firefox over IE. Slow as VM said and as a developer, I find FF throws up more differences to other browsers than IE these days.bloggoth

At least on Windows, FF has improved a lot in the last 12 month. Never mind v24 but v 17 ESR is faster than Chrome on Windows 7 Pro. On Freebsd I have no alternatives. Oh, maybe, Opera, but that's another story.<Insert idea here> will never be adopted because the politicians are in the pockets of the banks!Comment
