Print from Android tablet to Windows printer?

What's the easiest route to print from an Android tablet to a printer locally connected to a laptop running Win7?

Laptop has bluetooth and wifi connections.

Can't you just plug the tablet in via USB, mount the Android device then open & print from the lappy?

    Edit: Or dropbox it

It's the 21st century, I should be able to just click and print.

I just want to tap print on the tablet and it pops out of the printer.

Really, has technology become this stupid?

                Various apps exist for this.

                  1. Put your printer on your network.
                  2. Download the printer manufacturer's free app on your android tablet.
                  3. Connect the android tablet to the network
                  4. Find the printer on that app and press print.

                    Tap print where?
Tablets are still secondary devices and made to be mobile. Printers generally aren't and each one needs a different driver and then apps need integrating into the printer drivers.
If you can set up your printer to accept print from email jobs then I suggest you try that first before spending any money on apps.
