On top of all that I'm nearing 40 with high blood pressure, so I'm looking at options for extending my life.

You should work over in Scandinavia - there all the desks are height adjustable and most people work standing up - it is a Danish thing and the same on telly chat shows

I do take BP tablets. I don't expect a stand up desk to cure me of everything. It's one more thing to help.
