Win 7 OS losing connectivity but machine still fine.

I've a strange situation going on and it's happened a few times.

I have a Win7 machine that is running a Linux (Ubuntu) VM as a guest. The Win 7 machine is also running logmein and a scheduled program that should update twitter hourly.

Now. The twitter feed has not been updated for 2 days and although logmein sees the machine as available it cannot connect. Normally from this I would assume the machine has crashed or lost its connection.

However I can still SSH into the Guest VM.

    Weird. Any ideas?

So whats the IP addresses of the host and teh VM, and how are they configured to share the port?

      host is 192.168.1.101
VM is eth1:192.168.1.111 (bridged) and eth0:10.1.1.x (IIRC)

Home router has port forwarding to the VM.

Logmein and twitter updater are on host. SSH is to VM via dyndns.

Edit: I should probably state that this machine is in my office at home, I on the otherhand am not.
