Linux for users?

I'm not picking a fight with those who want a linux distro to play with (that's why I started a new thread), but does it make sense for someone to go to linux if they don't want to play with it?

Yes it does make sense. Install Mepis 3.4-3 and you'll be able to surf the web, use Open Office just like M$ Office, have a cheque tracker for basic bookkeeping, listen to mp3 etc, etc.

It also reads external usb stuff, including memory and ipods.

Mandrake is rubbish - get rid of it.


You don't have to play with anything, it just happens...
