Creating an iso image of an entire HD including boot info

As per the title I'd like to create an iso image including boot info of an XP laptop so I can convert it and use it as a virtual machine.

I've got the hiren boot CD so I can boot into Linux or mini XP it it needs to be done offline.

What (free) app should I use to do this?

    Ta in advance

Just use VMware vCenter Converter, Convert Physical Machines to Virtual Machines instead - it will convert the machine to a VMWare image for you. I did it from my laptop ages ago with no problems.

VirtualBox (is that the same?) will open a VMWare image.
