I've had it up to here with Yahoo mail!

I think I'll stop using Yahoo mail and switch to gmail. But what a pain when so many people have my yahoo email address in their contact list.

Yahoo mail's most annoying habit was "losing" the cursor in the compose text box, so one would have to type blind so to speak and watch carefully where the letters appeared.

But after "upgrading" to their super duper new web interface, I'm finding it loses the cursor _and_ disables the text box (in Firefox), which makes it completely unusable.

Viewing the source, it is bristling with weird and wonderful javascript. So obviously some smartass has tried to be a bit too smart.

Given that it crashes Firefox (every window, not just its own!) if one tries to delete individual spam/read emails too fast, I've just about had enough now.

Anyone else who uses Yahoo mail have problems with it?

Why not just set up an auto-forward rule in your Yahoo account to your Gmail address and then stop using it and gradually wean your friends onto the Gmail address.

Watch out though as these webmail companies have a habit of disabling your account if you haven't logged in for x number of days.

Yahoo are tossers, had loads of problems a while back with them bouncing anything from my mailserver even though it wasn't on any blacklists and the rest of the world was happy with it. Seems a lot of people using the same mail app as me had the same problem. Getting any support from them to resolve it was impossible.

I'm a Yahoo mail user but, on the whole, works fine for me.

But perhaps that's because I access it via an Outlook client.

I quit Yahoo mail when for no reason whatsoever emails sent to my yahoo address never showed up in inbox. I could login and send emails, could login to messenger etc so the account was active but emails just disappeared. I lost countless emails from clients and yahoo support did not bother replying to me either.

Once you've tried Google (apps) you'll never go back.

Although I'd get your Gmail account to POP3/IMAP the yahoo acc. Should get past the logging in issue.

yup its absolute shash but I keep my account for the same reason - it also forces me to use the new interface even though I always set it back to classic
