    HDMI Help

Can someone please explain to me exactly what HDMI is ?

I have a Sony HD tv which has several HDMI connections. I have standard Sky+ box and DVD player set up. Surround sound speakers connect via the DVD player.

So what should I be connecting to what to make use of the HDMI ?

both the sky plus box (if you have a subscription to HD channels) and the dvd player (if its a blue-ray player) to the tv

HDMI is a digital signal. If you really have a Sky+ box and a DVD player, they won't have HDMI and you'll have to use analogue only SD SCART.
Will work inside IR35. Or for food.

WHS. HDMI is just another type of connection. However it has Digital Rights Management (DRM) protection functionality to ensure that certain HD signals (Sky, Bluray etc) are only viewable by paying customers.

Unless you use HD it will not be needed.

Any DVD player with upscaling will have HDMI, even the cheapest these days. It depends on how old your DVD player is whether it just has scart or scart and HDMI

              Personally I preferred the 33's and 45's.

Why would anybody buy a DVD player with upscaling and HDMI?

I have a Blu-Ray player with downscaling and a SCART lead connected to my SD CRT TV.
