    Dell PC capacitor issue

    Remember this?

I do as I was a techie and used to buy/support Dell hardware and was directly affected.

    Interesting reading about it here.

They are not the only ones. A place I used to work at made a considerable loss on one project when all the circuit boards they supplied turned out to have defective components.

IBM capacitors blow all the time, when you look inside one of their SFF desktops you can't help but wonder if any thought had gone into it at all?

Conversely modern Dell desktops seem to be very well laid out inside.
Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave Johnson
