    On-line file storage

    Anyone recommend a service?

    This one: http://mozy.com/home/free
looks free for upto 2GB then $4.95 per month but I haven't done an extensive Google to look for alternatives, preferably free to some extent.

    Any recommendations?

        Aye, that's basically it.

Burn a DVD backup once a month and store it in a secure safety box.

More data to store, much more safety than online.

          Simples.

He may want to jump off into the Thames to cross it, there might be a better way.

Just how hard is it to get another disk for RAID 1, burn a DVD or backup to a cheap removable USB stick?

2 GB for $60 per year, that can buy a new HDD, or plenty of DVDs to burn including burner itself, or a couple of larger capacity USB sticks.

Used them in the past and they seem pretty good.

Which is NBG if the requirement is for online storage, that is, storage that can be accessed over the Internet from anywhere. He didn't ask for a backup solution.
