    Wii wireless

Since connecting my Wii to my wireless network at Christmas my wireless network has kept kicking me off periodically on my laptop.

    Previously stable before that.

Any ideas why? Or how to troubleshoot?

I've read somewhere that the Wii requires a certain channel to connect.

Are you using DHCP or dynamically allocating IP Addresses ? Perhaps give the laptop a static one higher up in the range ?

Wii connects ok. The neighbour is a gadget mechanic who has so many wireless subnets it's not even funny any more. So I had to duck to channel 1 to get things stable.

That is until Mr Wii came along.

I am using DHCP. The Wii consistenly is on .10 or has been since Christmas.

And what did Mr Neighbour get for Xmas at the same time as you connected your Wii?

I think you know where the problem really is.
My all-time favourite Dilbert cartoon, this is: BTW, a Dumpster is a brand of skip, I think.

This and the other post from xoggoth re the 10% penetration rate is why I do have wired and devolo devices in our house, also worried about the 24x7 radiation in young kids heads.

The kids are asking why everyone else has wifi and we don't.

I've got to move out as part of the separation / divorce soon - wonder if I should install wifi before I go....
